The 2020 National Convention will be held in Louisville, KY from August 28- September 3; the actual business session of the convention for all non-committee members starts September 1. The convention hotel for Montana is the Galt House, located at 140 North 4th Street St, which .3 miles from the Convention Center. All delegates must stay at the convention hotel. The room rates are $147.41 a night for doubles (2 beds – 1 or 2 persons, King (1 bed – 1 or 2 persons), this includes all taxes. Parking is $15.00 per day self and $25.00 valet. Convention registration for our Department will be on Thursday evening, Friday morning, and late Friday evening.
The Galt House has 7 lounges serving food and beverages, ranging from a deli to a high-priced steakhouse on the rooftop. All rooms feature a coffee maker, free internet access, and iron and ironing board.
The convention center is approximately 2 blocks from the hotel and a shuttle service will be operated starting on Thursday August 27.
Although at this time the parade route is not known, if it follows the most recent route our hotel is within walking distance, which means we will not need a bus for staging.
The National Commanders Banquet will be $55.00 and is nonrefundable. The entertainment is unknown at this time. National Commander Banquet tickets should be reserved and paid for no later than 1 February and are only refundable if I can sell them to someone else. Please do not wait.
I am organizing a river boat two-hour dinner cruise on the Ohio River for Saturday August 29, this cruise would be with the Departments of Nevada, Wyoming and South Carolina. The cost would be $45.00 for chicken, flat iron steak, potatoes, vegetable, salad and dessert.
All convention registrations and deposits will be due no later than 1 July 2020.
