639th QM Company Returning Home
Dec. 18 - Helena, MT - The Montana Army National Guard announced today that the 639th Quartermaster Company, headquartered in Havre with units in Libby and Kalispell, is returning to Montana on December 31, 2009. The approximately 130 members of the unit deployed in support of the Overseas Contingency Operation in January 2009.
The 639th QM Company of the Montana National Guard will be returning to Helena after deployment in Iraq Dec 31 at 4:00 PM at the Army Aviation Support Facility; from there most of the members will board busses to Havre, Kalispell and Libby with arrivals scheduled for Havre & Kalispell at 8:30 pm, Libby at 10:00 pm, they will be arriving at their respective a Armories.
The unit is returning to Montana after completing an 11-month tour in Iraq. The unit conducted transportation, fuel and maintenance missions during its tour. This is the second tour in Iraq for the unit.
"We are looking forward to starting the New Year together," said Caroline King, a spouse of a deployed 639th member. "One Christmas apart won't hurt us. We will start over and begin again with the New Year."
