On-line Services

Each Post has an option to use one of the following on-line services.

Basic Service

The basic services include the following:

• Printable new member application, as payment is required.
• Address change form sent via e-mail to adjutant.
• Snowbird address from to Department Adjutant.
• Transfer of post form sent via e-mail to current post and new post. If the adjutant for the new post does not have an e-mail address, the Department Adjutant will send the transfer form via regular mail.

Extended Service

The extended service includes all of the services provided by the basic service, plus the following:

• The printable new member applciation contains an additional field for credit card processing. Some posts may already have credit card services, or they prefer to use PayPal's virtual terminal service. This feature is also important for those who do not wish to send credit card information over the Internet.

Full Service

The full service includes the above options, plus the following additional options:

• New member application using PayPal for credit card payment. The application is sent via e-mail to the Post Adjutant.
• Membership renewal using PayPal for credit card payment. A renewal notice is sent to the Post Adjutant.

Note: The Post may charge a credit card processing fee, when dues are paid using a credit or debit card. When you use the credit card payment option via PayPal, your card is not charged until the Post Adjutant verifies the new member application or membership renewal.

Information Protection

Within the limits of Internet technology, we do our best to protect the information that you provide. When you use PayPal for payment of dues, all credit card information is maintained on PayPal's site. No credit card information is kept on the Web site for the American Legion of Montana. Furthermore, all information that you enter is deleted upon completion of the session. It is important that you follow the instructions on the screen to insure an orderly termination of the session. The department does not maintain an on-line membership database.
