Photo Album
The photo album is a community project open to all posts, units, and programs within American Legion of Montana family. The album is an evolving photo history of our Department. The scope of that history depends on the involvement of each post, unit and program.
As webmaster, I am not looking for you to send me photos. Instead, I will create an album for you, and you will maintain that album. I will merely act as a moderator and mentor of the album. The process to get started is real simple:
- Go to the Photo Album, and click on "Register."
- Complete the registration form.
- Upon notification of your registration request, I will contact you to verify your email address, and request that you send me one (1) photo. I will use this photo to activate your album. I cannot activate your account until I receive this photo.
- I will then send you an email when your photo album is ready, and its location within the album structure.
- You can then login and start building your album.
Building your album may seem a bit complex, but it gets easier after the first few photos. Here are a some basic steps to follow:
- You must login to your account to add or modify photos in your album.
- Once you login, you need to enter your photo album by clicking on the picture for the album.
- Click on the "Sidebar" option in the upper right portion of the screen.
- In the sidebar menu, click on "Add Items."
- If you are loading only one or two photos, you should use the "Web Browser" option. Please fill in the caption information, as this tells others the story behind the photo.
- If you have a lot of photos to upload, you should use the "Upload Applet."
Once you have uploaded the photos, you should do the following:
- Each photo has a menu selection below the photo. Select the "Edit Photo" option.
- Under the "General" tab, you can change the Title of the photo, add a summary, and modify the comments.
- The title should be unique and short. The title appears with both the thumbnail and the enlarged photo.
- The summary should be brief, and only appears with the thumbnail.
- The description is the full story of the photo, and only appears with the enlarged photo.
- If the photo needs to be rotated, click the "Modify Photo" tab. The CC90 button rotates the photo counterclockwise 90 degrees, and the C90 button rotates it clockwise.
Since we are building an living history of our Department, captions are important. It takes a little longer to build a great album, but a few pictures with a story are better than a lot of pictures with no story.
If you have any questions or problems send me an emailto: webmaster@mtlegion.org.
