The American Legion Junior Shooting Sports Program is a three-part program that combines the basic marksmanship course, qualifications awards, and air rifle competition. Participants can be of any gender, through age 18. Handicapped youth are encouraged to participate. Annual competition takes place at the post levels culminating with a shoulder- to- shoulder match held at the Olympic Training Center/USA Shooting Range Facilities in Colorado Springs, CO. The National Champions receive a $1,000 scholarship generously donated by the Sons of the American Legion.

New this year, target set orders and team rosters will now be submitted online. The cost is $10 per individual. There are no fees for team entry – all individuals are automatically entered into the team competition if there are at least four shooters in the club. Teams are determined by score – the top four shooters in a club are that team’s “Team One”, the next four shooters are that team’s “Team Two”, and so on.

When ordering online, you will first be directed to create a log-in. Once completed, you will be directed to the target set order form. As always, in order to compete in the tournament, you must be an affiliated American Legion club. Click here to download the Junior Shooting Sports Affiliation Form.
